I have been waiting for this album for quite some time now, and yet again Corvus has yet to disappoint, nor do I foresee that happening. The first time I heard the first track I thought I had a broken CD, So I listened to it a few times, then I moved onto the second track and realized that they had added an instrumental track! The guitar work was killer, Matt and Adam have truly taken Corvus to a whole new level, and Brock as well! After the concept of the previous albums end I was wondering what was next, it seems it has left an impression that stuck with me!
Vocals:
Brock's range of vocals in this album is even greater than any of the previous albums. Listening to the song The Distance Between Us, you can clearly hear the versatility of his voice. It has a nice blend of chant like parts with screaming and clean vocals.
Guitars:
Moving on to the guitar working on this album, I can clearly hear a huge difference in the way it sounds, and just the style. This album takes advantage of Matt and Adam's skills on the guitar. The leads on One Man Army were crazy (Solo parts), and after I saw Matt play it live I was even more impressed by the fact that he played the sweep at the end of the song one handed. The solo in The Distance Between Us blew me away, it was a slower song that I really loved the first time I even heard the intro via CDbaby. When I heard the full song, I was completely left in awe. And might I add that the Bass guitar live just wrecked! This album has some cool bass parts, though I admit usually I can't hear Bass in studio albums.
Drums:
I've got to hand it to Alan his drums on this one were amazing. The drums stood out at parts that it was needed, and it blended when it needed. I usually don't pay attention to drums on any album or for any band but Alan has got my attention. Don't stereotype drummers to be big guys. Alan being a skinny guy can hold his own.
My overall impression:
I really got into this album. From the instrumentals to the specific content of the lyrics. Everything meshed together nicely as a whole. I can listen start to finish over and over again. A lot of people would try to compare bands to other bands to describe a band but I can't seem to do that with Corvus. Give these guys a listen, and if you like them go onto their facebook page or email them, just show them some love!

I know that it has been a while since I have posted
I am not dead, but I am not alive. I have been gone focusing on things dear to me. And now the only thing left is my music. So thank you to all the artists that have helped make me who I am today. It is sincerely the only thing I can rely on. So expect more posts from me in the near and upcoming future. Until then my friends and my crowd of zero.
